Outpatient rehabilitation day service, helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

We provide centre-based rehabilitation programs for outpatients. Day rehabilitation is often organised by your treating hospital so that you can continue your therapy once you return home.
DRS clients are provided a program that matches their capacity and rehabilitation goals.
This may mean working with a number of different health professionals and attending multiple sessions per week. Where appropriate or necessary we can deliver some services in the community, at home or via telerehabilitation.

If attending DRS at TQEH, it is located on Level 1, Allied Health building.
However DRS can be accessed from several locations across South Australia. Check your appointment letter for further information.

DRS provides access to a range of disciplines, including doctors, nurses and allied health professionals who work together to deliver rehab programs tailored to each individual’s needs.
The program has access to medical, nursing and allied health disciplines, including
- Clinical psychology
- Exercise physiology
- Medical Rehabilitation Specialists and Trainees
- Neuropsychology
- Nutrition and Dietetics
- Nursing
- Occupational therapy
- Orthotics and prosthetics
- Physiotherapy
- Speech pathology
- Social work
- Allied health assistants.
General rehabilitation
Rehabilitation services help people regain function, become more independent, and adjust to a new way of doing things after an illness, injury, or surgery.

Day Rehabilitation Services (DRS) is either organised by your treating hospital, so you can continue your therapy once you return home.
Otherwise, to access DRS, you must first be referred by a GP, medical specialist, nurse or allied health professional.
You may be eligible for DRS if:
- you are 18 years or older
- you have achievable rehabilitation goals
- are motivated to work towards these goals and commit to regular attendance at appointments
- you require an interdisciplinary program, i.e. the involvement of 2 or more disciplines to achieve the goals
- you have recently experienced an acute episode of care with a change in function, necessitating the need for a rehab program
- you reside within the CALHN catchment area.
Services are provided Monday to Friday between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm.

- are 18 years or older
- have achievable rehabilitation goals
- are motivated to work towards these goals and commit to regular attendance at appointments
- require an interdisciplinary program, i.e. the involvement of 2 or more disciplines to achieve the goals
- have recently experienced an acute episode of care with a change in function, necessitating the need for a rehab program
- reside within the CALHN catchment area.
Where there is an existing specialist rehabilitation service for the diagnostic group, the DRS will provide information to the referrer to facilitate redirection to the most appropriate service.
