Day rehabilitation services (DRS) are provided at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH), working with a number of different therapists and health profssionals to achieve your recovery goals.
You may attend multiple sessions per week, depending on your rehabilitation goals. Some of your therapy program may be provided over telerehabilitation which involves you remaining at home whilst linking up over a video conference with your treating health professional.
Day rehabilitation is often organised by your treating hospital so that you can continue your therapy once you return home. Otherwise a referral from a health professional, such as a GP or medical specialist, is required.
Rehabilitation therapies may include:
- hydrotherapy
- gym and circuit training
- individual and group therapy sessions
- telerehabilitation
- use of robotics and other specialised equipment
- spasticity management.
